Marcel Kittel
His long professional cycling career (19 Grand Tours stage victories and many cycle race successes all over the world) has won Marcel Kittel a place in the heart of the cycling community. Born in Thuringia, Kittel finished his professional career in 2019. But biking remains an important part of his life. “Now that my career is over, cycling means more to me than just speeding around on a racing bike. Biking is the greatest hobby in the world. You’re outside, you get to spend time on your bike with friends or family, and you can leave the daily grind behind,” he says. “I want to work with SIGMA to motivate people to exercise more and enjoy cycling,” Kittel says. “I have spent half of my life on a bicycle in road traffic, and those years have given me the impression that things out there are getting rougher. That is why it is very important to address bike safety. That is the issue I want to join SIGMA in tackling.”
Anne Terpstra
Anne Terpstra, the Dutch cross-country specialist, has been a SIGMA brand ambassador for several years. At 31, she is a starter for the GHOST Factory Racing Team and one of the most successful mountain bikers in the world. Bikes have been a major passion for her since childhood. She spends lots of time training, but also makes sure that she keeps a sense of fun. In training and during her free time, Anna always uses SIGMA’s smart bike accessories when she is riding. “I can rely on SIGMA’s GPS bike computers and lights, and I can recommend them to recreational athletes. This equipment makes it even easier to get on my bike and enjoy cycling, and to experience it as a break from my routine. It clears my head and keeps me fit and healthy.”
Karl Platt
Karl Platt, a five-time Cape Epic winner, has become a fixture in mountain biking. Since the end of his professional career, Platt has remained active in cycling. He races the Masters. “King Karl”, as he is lovingly called by his fans, lives with his family very near SIGMA headquarters and rides his favourite trails in the Palatinate Forest as often as he can.
Karl Platt has been part of the SIGMA family for 15 years. “As a brand ambassador, I want to actively promote the SIGMA brand,” says Platt. “I have done a lot of cycling in my day and have lots of ideas for how we can improve biking for pros and amateurs. I am looking forward to integrating those ideas into new SIGMA products.”
SERGIO MANTECÓN
Spanish cross-country specialist Sergio Mantecon has been a SIGMA brand ambassador since 2022. In his career so far, the 38-year-old has been successful in World Cups and mountain bike races all over the world. He loves testing himself against the best riders in World Cup races. “I love the limitless freedom of cycling,” he says. “My favourite trails are technically challenging. I always have the reliable SIGMA bike computer with me. It is light and compact and lets me keep an eye on all important data.”
